Remember when you saw a new band for the first time and thought the world needed to hear about them?
If you’re reading this here at IEBA, then I’m sure you do. That’s what drives our passion for live music. We’ve been at this a long time because we want to share great music with EVERYONE.
I’ve been coming to IEBA for 7 years minus the pandemic hiccup. My name is Holly Hutchison aka AnRGirl. I’m on the talent side of the business developing artists to be worth what you will promote, buy and share. I enjoy networking IEBA with all of you so passionate about live music. I’m on the side of the business where it starts.
My history – The first big show I booked was with a band from NJ called SKID ROW. I was 19 years old and booked them at The Airport Music Hall in Allentown, PA. Atlantic Records FounderAhmet Ertegun showed up in a BLIZZARD that night and offered SKID ROW a record deal. IT WAS ASTOUNDING AND AMAZING to witness this.
From there I went on to the role of A&R at major labels in Los Angeles. Here are a few of my favorite discoveries:
First label rep to identify the Deftones at the Coconut Teaser in West Hollywood.
I had coffee, got a demo tape and heard the hits first from a young lady named Alanis Morissette before A&R bosses and the rest of the labels.
I saw a young band called Blink(no 182 at that time) play at a snowboard festival before any other labels and spread the word that they would be HUGE – ask Bill Silva!
I was the first label rep to have the demo from a band called MUSE.
